The air-source system collects energy from the outdoor environment through a refrigerant cycle; it raises the temperature level with a compressor and transfers it to the building’s water circuit.

Heat pumps are devices that meet heating, cooling, and hot water needs by transferring energy from one source to another with the help of electrical energy. They perform this transfer through the refrigerant used in the refrigeration circuit. The installation equipment is the same as in boiler systems, only larger diameters are used.
Air-source heat pumps absorb heat from the outside air. This heat can then be used to heat radiators, underfloor heating systems, or warm air convectors, as well as domestic hot water in your home. An air-source heat pump extracts heat from the outside air much like a refrigerator extracts heat from its interior. It can extract heat from the air even when temperatures are as low as -25 °C. Since heat pumps require electricity to operate, they have some impact on the environment, but the heat extracted from the ground, air, or water is continuously and naturally replenished.
